Labour day 2024

Labour day, which is, the first of May, Is celebrated by the Christians. Let’s find out more about this public holiday.

         In the past, people relied on labourers to build houses. The house you are living now may be built be these people. This day has its origins in the labour union movement.

         The main purpose of this day is to celebrate the achievements of labourers, now, workers. The labour union movement also was known as the eight our movement. 8 hours for work, 8 hours for rest, and 8 hours for recreation.

         Did you know you couldn’t wear white after labour day? It is because wearing white meant that you weren’t doing the landscaping cooking or cleaning, or manual labour at all.

“Before the reward there must be labour. You plant before you harvest. You sow in tears before you reap joy.” – a famous labour day quote.

End semester review

What have you done in this wonderful six months of 2024?

Well, people have different answers to this question. You may have got  full marks in your exams or have mastered a skill.

         What you have done, I’m sure it will be fabulous. If you have done something wrong, just forget it. Everything that happened in the past is now water under the bridge.

         It is not heathy to just dwell on the past. It’s over, stop thinking of it. Thinking and only focusing on the past will make you unhappy. Focus on the present and cherish every minute you have with your friends and family.

         It is also not very good if you focus on the future too much. It may cause unnecessary stress. You should let time decide your future.

Shadow puppets

Do you know how shadows are formed? I think you do but if you don’t, here’s how it is formed.

         Shadows are formed when light is blocked by an object. Not all objects though, opaque ones. This is an example:

According to this, we made shadow puppets and made a shadow play! These are the ones made by our friends.
