This mug cake recipe is quick and easy and will not make a huge mess in your kitchen. So it is a perfect quick snack to make when you need more energy to study during the exam periods. There will also be a new category for quick and easy bakes! I hope you enjoy baking these cakes!
Equipment:
a microwave
a large microwave safe mug or a container
spoons
a toothpick or skewer
Ingredients you will need:
5 tbs all purpose flour
25g butter (melted)
2 tbs sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3tbs milk
Cocoa powder (optional)
sprinkles (optional)
Chocolate chips (optional)
1/4 tsp baking powder
Steps:
Mix the melted butter with the sugar until dissolved
add in the vanilla extract and stir
fold in the flour with the baking powder
Baking tip: Baking powder gives a rise in cakes and any type of batter. The end product will be fluffy and airy! But do not misuse it! You may give the dessert the wrong texture!
To make the chocolate mug cake, these are the steps:
Following from the last steps, add in the cocoa powder and fold in the chocolat chips or chunks.
To make the party mug cake, these are the steps:
Fold in the sprinkles
Add 1/2 tsp of almond extract
Baking tip: Almond extract gives nutiness and brings in the party vibe! It can make a huge difference in vanilla and party cakes.
(Party cakes are just cakes with sprinkles baked inside with sometimes a well. So when you cut it open, sprinkles will flow out! They are often vanilla flavoured and topped with whipped cream and more sprinkles.)
Back to the mug cakes:
After adding the extra stuff based on what flavour you want, microwave the cake mixture for 1 min 30 sec.
Take it out and insert the toothpick inside. The toothpick c=should come out clean.
Add any topping you want
enjoy!
